Curosurf is a drug used for the treatment of (premature) newborns with (a risk of) respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). A cause of RDS can be a lack of surfactant production in the lungs. Curosurf contains Poractant alfa, a natural surfactant that works in the same way as the body’s own surfactant.
