Hyaneb is a product that is used to loosen or dissolve thick mucus in the airways. Hyaneb contains hypertonic saline and hyaluronic acid. Hypertonic saline is a very salty solution. Hyaneb is used together with a nebulizer. The nebulized solution reaches the lungs through inhalation. The salt in the solution attracts water from its surroundings which loosens the mucus making it easier to cough up. Hyaluronic acid is added to the solution to mask the very salty taste after nebulization.
